I first bow to the lotus feet of my Guru and purify the mirror of my mind. I sing the pure glory of Lord Rama, who grants the four goals of life. Knowing myself to be limited in wisdom, I remember Hanuman, son of the Wind God. Please bless me with strength, intelligence, knowledge, and remove my suffering.

Glory to Hanuman, ocean of wisdom and virtue. Glory to the lord of vanaras, whose fame shines across all three worlds. You are Lord Rama’s messenger and the home of incomparable strength. You are known as the son of Anjani and the Wind God.

You are mighty, heroic, and powerful like thunder. You remove wrong thinking and bless noble wisdom. Your golden form shines beautifully. You wear earrings and have curly hair.

You hold the thunderbolt and flag in your hands. The sacred thread shines upon your shoulder. You are Shiva’s manifestation and son of Kesari. Your glory and brilliance are worshipped throughout the world.

You are wise, virtuous, and highly intelligent. You are always eager to serve Lord Rama. You delight in hearing the stories of the Lord. Rama, Lakshman, and Sita forever dwell in your heart.

You took a subtle form to appear before Sita. You took a fierce form and burned Lanka. You assumed a terrifying form to destroy demons. You completed all of Lord Rama’s divine missions.

You brought the Sanjeevani herb and revived Lakshman. Lord Rama joyfully embraced you. He praised you greatly for your devotion. He said you are as dear to Him as His brother Bharata.

Thousands of mouths sing your glory. Saying this, the Lord embraced you. Great sages, Brahma, and saints praise you. Narada, Saraswati, and Sheshnag also glorify you.

Yama, Kubera, and guardians of directions honor you. Even poets cannot fully describe your greatness. You helped Sugriva in his distress. You united him with Rama and restored his kingdom.

Vibhishana followed your wise advice and became king of Lanka. As a child, you saw the distant sun and thought it was a sweet fruit. In playfulness, you leapt toward it with divine power.

Holding Lord Rama’s ring in your mouth, you crossed the vast ocean with ease. This was no surprise because of your divine power. All difficult tasks in the world become easier through your grace and blessings.

You stand as the guardian at Lord Rama’s doorway. No one may enter without your permission. Those who take refuge in you receive happiness and peace. When you protect someone, there is nothing left to fear.

Only you can control your immense strength and power. Your mighty roar makes all three worlds tremble. Negative forces and evil energies do not come near wherever the powerful name of Hanuman is remembered.

Diseases, suffering, and pain are removed by constantly chanting the name of brave Hanuman. Hanuman frees devotees from troubles who remember him through mind, actions, words, and devotion.

Lord Rama, king among ascetics, is supreme above all. You complete all of His divine tasks. Whoever approaches you with sincere wishes receives abundant blessings and rewards in life.

Your glory shines through all four ages of time. Your fame illuminates the world. You protect saints, sages, and noble people. You destroy evil beings and are dearly loved by Lord Rama.

You can grant the eight spiritual powers and nine treasures. Mother Sita gave you this divine blessing. You hold the nectar of devotion to Lord Rama and forever remain the humble servant of Raghupati.

Through devotion to Hanuman, one reaches Lord Rama. Sorrows carried across many births are forgotten. At the end of life, one attains Rama’s divine abode and is reborn as a devotee of God.

One need not place the mind elsewhere, for devotion to Hanuman brings every kind of happiness. Troubles end and pain disappears for those who remember mighty Hanuman.

Victory again and again to Lord Hanuman. Please shower your grace like a compassionate Guru. Whoever recites this one hundred times is freed from bondage and gains great happiness.

Whoever reads this Hanuman Chalisa attains success and blessings, with Lord Shiva as witness. Tulsidas remains forever the servant of God and prays, O Lord, reside within my heart forever.

O son of the Wind God, remover of troubles and embodiment of auspiciousness, reside in my heart along with Lord Rama, Lakshman, and Sita.
